Privacy
This site is run by Axe Machina Ltd, Chris Axe's company, which trades as Chris Axe from Witham, Essex. The company is responsible for the data described here, and its registration details are at the foot of every page. The site collects very little, and this page covers all of it.
What I measure
I use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to see how the site is used. It records:
- which pages are visited, and the site you arrived from
- your rough location (country and town), browser and type of device
- which links and buttons are clicked, including booking a call, signing up for the free session, emailing me and downloading my CV
It doesn't use or do any of these:
- cookies, or anything else stored in your browser (which is why there's no cookie banner)
- keeping your IP address
- advertising, following you across other sites, or selling and sharing what it records
Visits are counted with a code PostHog generates on its own servers, which changes every day. I can't tell who you are from it, or recognise you if you come back on another day. PostHog keeps this data for up to seven years.
If you get in touch
Emails to [email protected] arrive in my Gmail inbox and I keep them as ordinary correspondence. I only use your details to reply and to work with you.
Booking a call uses Google Calendar, and signing up for the free session uses Eventbrite. Once you're on their pages, their own privacy policies apply.
Behind the scenes
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which may log technical details such as IP addresses to keep it running securely. The fonts come from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when it sends them to your browser.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Email [email protected]. If you're not happy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
